India refuses Trump’s declaration of conciliate ceasefire with Pakistan over trade:
Mr. Randhir Jaiswal spokesperson of MEA said that there was no discussion happened with the US administration on trade in reference to India Pakistan ceasefire.
Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, during a press briefing on Tuesday, rejected the United States claim that they had helped broker the peace agreement between India and Pakistan in exchange for trade concessions.
Randhir Jaiswal said at the time of operation sindoor which was commenced on 7th May’2025 till the understanding on cessation of firing and military action on 10th May’2024, there were discussions between India and US administration on the developing military situation. There was no discussion about the trade in between the discussion.
The MEA’s clarified in reference to US President Donald Trump claiming credit for stopping the ceasefire between the two countries citing “Trade” is a big reason. He mentioned that he had leveraged trade with the Us to convince both countries to de-escalate military action against each other.
